POSTURE PERFECTING: Get Properly Aligned for Exercise

 

Exercising before we are in proper alignment will make our posture WORSE.

It can also lead to all kinds of aches and pains that trickle down to other parts of the the body. And since we are talking 'tummies'.... poor posture can make our bellies bulge because our core is lacking support.

Here's How to Practice Perfect Posture:

-Stand with feet shoulder distance apart. 

-Don't lock your knees. Keep them slightly bent.

-Keep your pelvis in a neutral position. Avoid tucking your hips under or sticking your booty out too far. 

-Roll your shoulders up back and down.

-Stand with your chest in a tall position.

-Lengthen through the top of your head.

-Your ears ought to be over the middle of your shoulders. 

-Think of boney landmarks all in a line... ears, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles.

-Breath deeply in and out. Be sure to breathe into your belly and feel your ribs expand.
